Canyon.ie
Canyon.ie is the best resource for canyoning in Ireland. Detailing trip reports, region guides and photo/video galleries for canyon trips both in ireland and abroad.

The sport of Canyoning within Ireland is rapidly expanding with more and more trips being organised every year. Locations already explored include France (Haute Savoie), Spain (Sierra De Guara & Mallorca) & Andorra. This site shall be the primary English language resource for canyoning destinations world-wide based on first hand experience of these regions.

Ireland as a canyoning destination is unfortunately not geologically suited. During the last Ice Age Ireland was covered by glaciers. This resulted in Ireland having its rolling hills and limited height variation which it is known for today. Further more, large amounts of Ireland is limestone, which geologically is not suited to canyon creation as in these Karst areas caves are generally formed instead of canyons. There are a few small canyons known however they are very limited in both length and technical challenge.
